Frequently Asked Questions

Every lubricant manufacturer or base oil importer selling under their own brand in India. This includes companies of all sizes — from large brands (Castrol, Gulf, BPCL MAK, IndianOil Servo) to regional lubricant manufacturers. If you sell lubricants or base oil under your brand, you are required to register on the CPCB EPR portal and meet annual targets.
Obligation = FY target % × your total lubricant/base oil sales volume (in MT) in the reference year. Example: 1,000 MT sold in FY2023-24 × 10% (FY2025-26 target) = 100 MT of EPR certificates required. Use our calculator above or email us your volume and we calculate it for you.

BIOC initiates a direct transfer on eprusedoil.cpcb.gov.in from our recycler account to your registered producer account. You must be registered as a producer on the CPCB portal. If not registered, we can guide you through the registration process. Transfer is completed within 2–3 business days of payment confirmation.
Yes. EPR certificates are valid for 2 years from end of the issuance FY. You can apply them to current year target + prior year shortfall + 10% carry-forward buffer. Many producers buy FY2024-25 and FY2025-26 certificates together in one transaction to cover both years' obligations at current lower prices.
CPCB levies Environmental Compensation on non-compliant producers. The minimum EPR certificate price is set at 30% of the EC rate, and the maximum at 100% — making purchasing certificates always cheaper than the penalty. Repeated non-compliance can result in suspension of production or import authorizations.
Yes. BIOC is listed on eprusedoil.cpcb.gov.in as a registered Category IV recycler. You can verify our registration directly on the CPCB portal before making any payment. We also provide copies of our CPCB authorization and RPCB license on request.
